Hello Friends of Five Vintners, Spring has sprung in the Napa Valley and the vineyards have had a great winter with solid amounts of rainfall. Bud break has already happened with Sauvignon Blanc, Cab and Zin will follow within the next two weeks. Another new emergence is the full time addition of Kirk to the winemaking and marketing efforts at Five Vintners. We are now officially a husband/wife team in this venture….yikes! If you would like to counsel me on working with a spouse or offer any other bit of advice give me a call at 707-225-1179 or drop a line to kirk@fivevintners.com. On the wine front we have nearly sold out of the Admirals Vineyard 2006 Sauvignon Blanc except for several cases we have stashed for direct sales. It will be first come first to have this crisp, lightly floral and citrus delight. This is the perfect wine for those lengthening evenings when the appetizers become the meal. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon is one the most well balanced Cabs in recent memory. The Cab pairs extraordinarily well with food, especially my favorite of beef stroganoff and snap peas. The delicious food loving 2002 Syrah is still a cult classic. Opening the Syrah and breathing in its lush deep plum and cherry notes with a slightly smoky undertone is one of my favorite wine experiences. And last but not least is the 2005 Zinfandel. Fruit forward with light spice and caramel are the highlights of this beautiful red. I like it on its own but it does pair well with food that has a little kick, like pepperoni pizza from Pizzeria Travigne. I’m getting hungry already. As a huge thank you for your previous purchases with us when you buy six or more bottles we will pay for UPS ground shipping when ordered at fivevintners.com. The promotion code for our shipping offer is 04081 and can be entered in the Special Offers section of the shopping cart . The offer is good through April 30th, 2008. Have a beautiful spring,
